Towering coral pinnacles rise from a sandy bottom around 25–30m, forming canyons and ridges you drift between. It's Cozumel's big-animal dive — your best odds of turtles, eagle rays and the occasional reef shark.

Diving Columbia Deep
Columbia Deep trades the continuous wall for something more sculptural: enormous coral pinnacles standing alone on a sand plain, rising tall from around 25–30m. Drifting between them feels like flying through an underwater city of coral towers, with shafts of light and deep blue gaps in every direction.
The scale and the open sand make this the island's best site for larger animals. Turtles rest among the structure, eagle rays glide the edges — sometimes in groups in the cooler months — and the occasional reef shark passes through. Big sponges and gorgonians cover the pinnacles themselves.
The depth and drift make this a true advanced dive; we run it with good air consumption and buoyancy in mind, and Nitrox is our preferred choice here to stretch your time at depth.
