Diving Punta Sur & the Devil's Throat
Punta Sur is a deep, sculpted reef where coral towers and chimneys are pierced by tunnels and caverns. The signature feature is the Devil's Throat: a narrow chimney that drops you down through the coral and spits you out deep on the wall, descending to roughly 28–40m across the swim-through.
It's spectacular — and it's serious. The tunnel is an overhead environment with no quick exit to the surface, at depths where good gas planning and steady buoyancy matter. We dive it only with experienced, advanced divers who are comfortable with depth, narrow spaces and following a guide precisely.
If Punta Sur isn't the right fit on the day — for your experience or the conditions — we'll say so and pick something just as memorable. Honesty here is the whole point of diving with a small operator who knows the site.
